Jason:
All right, what’s up Lead Hacker Nation? We are live with Manuel here from Crown Media Group. We’re pumped to talk with Manuel about lead gen and any secrets, tips, and whatever he has to share. So, let’s just, with no further ado, welcome Manuel.

Guest:
Thank you. Thank you. Having a good time here. Happy New Year.

Jason:
Happy New Year, man. Tell us a little bit about your company, what you’re doing, what’s working with lead gen, not working? Just love to get your thoughts, right off the bat.

Guest:
Well, my company’s very focused on branding and web design. We kind of find companies that are struggling and help them put them in the right place to get the right customers. Lead gen is a great system that we are using right now to connect to a specific type of company. Right now, we’re looking into dealing with lawyers, so we’re utilizing you guys for that.

Jason:
You’re utilizing the Lead Experiment’s unlimited local leads software to actually reach out to lawyers?

Guest:
Exactly, yes.

Jason:
Awesome. What’s been going on with that? Have you had any results? What’s your experience with that?

Guest:
Well, at this moment, what we’re doing is building a system where … This is New Year Day, so I’m expecting by tomorrow to get some feedback.

Jason:
Cool.

Guest:
We like to be a little personal, so if someone is interested, we’ll be able to do some appointments with them. What I do is a little five-minute analysis of their website and see where they are able to improve.

Jason:
Nice.

Guest:
And how we can help them.

Jason:
What’s been working for you in the past in terms of lead gen, getting customers? Cold calling, cold email, pay per click? What’s been your cup of tea for 2016?

Guest:
In 2016, at the end of 2016, I was doing five different things, and I end up canceling pretty much everything and just going with you guys.

Jason:
Nice. Love it.

Guest:
Just the other stuff wasn’t working. It was a little complicated, but your system is pretty simple. I do love it. You have the database and also just set it up so that you can reach out to all those business owners. For right now, we’re not doing any paper clip, just utilizing the system for right now. So that’s what I’m doing.

Jason:
Love it. I love it. I’m loving it. Just for those, let’s see here … Let me share my screen here, just for those who are not acquainted with what we’re talking about. We’re talking about the local leads, unlimited local leads, software program. This is a powerful, powerful program. If you just go to LeadExperiments.com, you can click here. There’ll be different ads. This site will be changing a lot, of course, over this new year. Just an explosion of steady, qualified traffic, opt-ins, demos, and sales. Need to sell to local businesses? Get tons of qualified prospects with our software. Just opt-in here to get an online demo and to learn more about the program. Here’s just a little sneak peek on the inside. This is the dashboard. You get access to this powerful, powerful program, if you want to look up … I’m sure we have attorneys here. Yeah, just attorneys in Chicago. Of course, there’s other cities, for sure, but that’s just a little bit of a taste test. Anyway, it’s a super, super powerful system. Dude, glad to have you aboard, Manuel. It’s awesome.

Guest:
Thanks so much. I encourage if anyone out there into the web design or you got services where you need to connect with the local people, just to try this stuff out. It’s pretty good.

Jason:
You said you were trying five different things. What things were you trying? How did those turn out?

Guest:
A lot of them were just complicated. There was no follow-up. People worked very quickly to take your money. A lot of it could be a lot of finances. It was hard to be focused. You get emails all the time. Like you mentioned, just keep it simple and have a way to have your product to be attractive to new prospects. We’re growing together.

Jason:
Is there a way you can share your screen, kind of show us what your company does? Maybe we can talk a little bit about how to craft that cold email that you’re going to send into these lawyers and how to get them into a demo situation where you can close them into a sale?

Guest:
Yeah, I’m on …

Jason:
Are you on mobile?

Guest:
I’m on my phone right now.

Jason:
I can kind of guide. I can share my screen, if you can just walk me through it.

Guest:
Yeah, let’s do that.

Jason:
I know it’s a little harder on mobile. Let’s see here. All right. Can you see my screen now?

Guest:
Yeah, it’s perfect. I see your screen. The website’s CrownMediaGroup.com.

Jason:
I was just here earlier this morning checking it out. It looks beautiful. I really love the call to action right here in the beginning. Do you need to get more customers? I love that. Really, in my mind, what most people … A lot of people out there are selling web design or SEO or whatever. For the average business owner, they don’t even know what that means. They don’t care. They just want more customers. I feel like your call to action just cuts straight to the chase, like do you need more customers? Yes. Heck yeah.

Guest:
That right there, actually, we want to do some sort of a slider or a GIF animator.

Jason:
Really?

Guest:
There is three messages, so that’ll be something to do in the future.

Jason:
How’d you get the site done? What was your technique for doing this? Is it WordPress? What platform did you use? Did you use a template?

Guest:
Actually, I used to use templates, but I really believe a lot of people use templates, and they try to put someone else’s stuff into a template. I think the first thing we have to do is talk to a client and find out what is it that they need and what is their priorities. According to that, we design something in Photoshop, and then we hire a developer to turn it into a WordPress. WordPress, lately, has been having a lot of issues with updates, so I’m looking into Business Catalyst right now. It’s supposed to be very simple and very hard to crack.

Jason:
What do you mean hard to crack?

Guest:
You know, WordPress, you use plugins. You’re in the middle of the night, enjoying dinner, and then you get a phone call from three different clients like, “My website is down.” I love WordPress, but that’s the one thing about it. It updates, and you never know when a plugin’s going to get a virus. We tried to find … You know.

Jason:
What is Business Catalyst? I’ve never heard of that.

Guest:
Oh my gosh, it’s amazing. Business Catalyst.

Jason:
I’m going to share my screen again. Let’s take a look at it. Very interesting.

Guest:
It’s connected with Adobe Photoshop.

Jason:
Really?

Guest:
Or Adobe. It’s connected with Adobe.

Jason:
Let’s see here. What’s the website? Business Catalyst?

Guest:
Yeah.

Jason:
Let’s see here.

Guest:
You’re probably familiar with Muse.

Jason:
Yes.

Guest:
You can build your website.

Jason:
So, everything you need to build an online business. Interesting. Deliver powerful business websites and online stores to your clients. Oh, so this is for … With an all-in-one hosted solution built for web designers like you. Interesting. Wow.

Guest:
They have everything. The good thing about it is they have it where you’re not able to get viruses. It’s all in one. So it’s pretty cool.

Jason:
Just a cleaner system. How long have you been using it for?

Guest:
No, actually, for the last two months, I’ve been just playing around with it.

Jason:
Testing it out?

Guest:
Yeah.

Jason:
Very interesting.

Guest:
I know I have a network of 200 web designers, and like 70% of them use this.

Jason:
Really?

Guest:
Yeah.

Jason:
Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Okay, more tips and tricks coming out. Is this your full-time business that you do? Do you have a day job that you have on the side? What’s been your experience with that?

Guest:
Right now, I work for a church, like a part-time job, in South Chicago. I’ve been doing that for the last 10 years. I really love my job. Outside that, I deal with probably 25 clients.

Jason:
Holy smokes.

Guest:
Always busy.

Jason:
How do you manage? What’s your secret for success of managing clients and then, of course, scaling? Because you want to scale your business in 2017, but if you’re bogged down with client calls all the time, it’s like …

Guest:
I think, to me, I’m big in customer service and helping people. I believe in getting their success is my number one focus, so what I do is have a team overseas where just cut the finances. I don’t have an office. My office is a Starbucks or a Panera Bread.

Jason:
Low overhead.

Guest:
Yeah, but I do want to grow. At the end, if you have an amazing product, people refers you. I got, locally where I am, I’m the web design company that has the most reviews. People are really happy with my work.

Jason:
What do you mean? Can you guide me on a screen share to show how that works? I’m just confused. If I search web design …

Guest:
Can we go to Google real quick?

Jason:
Yeah, let me pull that up here. Let’s see here. Let’s get this pulled up.

Guest:
Do you have a Yeti mic?

Jason:
Oh, I love this mic. I love it so much. It’s been such a good mic.

Guest:
I own three of them. I don’t have the black ones. I don’t have the black one.

Jason:
Just got it for Christmas.

Guest:
Yeah?

Jason:
I’ve been loving it. Yeah, I’ve just been using headphones and the mic on the headphones. I just upgraded the mic, and I’ve been enjoying it thus far.

Guest:
Congratulations, then. Beautiful.

Jason:
I’m back here.

Guest:
We go to Google.

Jason:
So I just go to Google. Okay.

Guest:
Just type NWI, for Northwest Indiana, web design, so NWI web design.

Jason:
Like this? Like that?

Guest:
Yeah.

Jason:
Oh my gosh, here it is. Here it is. Web design solutions, Merrillville.

Guest:
I can text you the link to see the reviews. Let me see.

Jason:
Yeah, text it to me, and I’ll pull it up. Interesting.

Guest:
Anyway, that’s what I do. We are so focused, we’re 100% focused in clients, customer service, fixing problems that we get tons of reviews.

Jason:
This is so powerful. So powerful. Dang. I’m loving it. Then, how do you get the customer reviews? What’s kind of your secret for generating all of those?

Guest:
Well, I have it set up where people just click on a link. What I do is I email them with a link, and this link goes to their email. They just click. It takes them to where they just send the review. I know there’s software or services that allow you … It’s so simple.

Jason:
You just do it manually? You just say, “Hey, look, we just did business. Give me a review.”

Guest:
Yeah. I mean, [inaudible 00:15:26]. When I’m doing a project. I’m pretty much focused on them giving me reviews. Right now, so far, we’ve got eight reviews. You can tell, I just text you that screen. I don’t know if you can see it.

Jason:
I’ll take a look here. Got my phone. Oh my gosh, very cool. Looking on the web doesn’t do it justice, because when you search it on the phone, it’s at totally different ballgame. You pull up number one here on the phone, and yeah, it looks gorgeous. You got eight reviews. You get deals coming in just from people doing searches?

Guest:
Yes, I do, yeah. Sometimes you get people just wanting something for free.

Jason:
Just want to talk. Wow. Here you are. Dang. That’s so cool. I like that. Dang. That’s really powerful, and it just looks a lot more powerful compared to your competition. It’s like you’ve got all these reviews. If I was trying to decide on a person to do business with, I’d want to do business with you. I don’t know if people can see on the screen here, but you’re right there at the top, Crown Media. Looks like basically five stars, eight five star reviews. That’s awesome. Cool. How many leads would you say you generate in a typical month just from that local SEO effort? Looks like we may have lost you for a second. Let’s see if we can get you back. If not, we’ll just close up the show, but I’ll hold on the line for just a sec to see if we can get you back.

I just did my own search here, web design Merrillville, Indiana on my own phone. You pull up number one. You’ve got all of these awesome reviews. Super powerful. Great technique, by the way. I really like how you did that. That’s very cool. Then, of course, you’re going to get tons of traffic coming in that way. Very, very cool. Well, it looks like we’ve lost you, probably due to some sort of Internet connectivity issues. Lead Hacker Nation, get pumped. Get ready to crush it. It’s 2017. It’s time to just kill it. Your family’s on the line. Your self-worth is on the line. Dignity, self-respect. It’s time to just crush it. [inaudible 00:18:48], get tons of leads coming in. Lead Hackers unite. Form the rebellion. The resistance begins. If you’re watching this broadcast, you are part of the resistance. Let’s go, Freedom Fighters, it’s 2017. I’m signing out.
